SNAS Forum 2026

Since its founding in 1967, the Singapore National Academy of Science (SNAS) has stood as an independent champion for science; promoting knowledge, celebrating discovery, and advancing technological progress in Singapore. For more than five decades, we have been guided by a simple but powerful idea: science matters, and its contributions should be recognised, understood, and shared with society.

Our mission is to showcase the achievements of scientists working in Singapore, lead in public engagement and science communication, and serve as a trusted, non-partisan voice in support of national initiatives. Our vision is to be a national beacon for scientific awareness; inspiring discovery, innovation, and a society that values and celebrates science.

Next year marks a significant milestone, the 50th anniversary of SNAS. This moment offers not only an opportunity to reflect on our history and honour those who built the Academy, but also to look ahead and renew our purpose. To commemorate this golden jubilee, we are pleased to announce the SNASForum 2026, an interdisciplinary conference themed “Integrating Basic Sciences for the Future of Health.”

The conference will be organised in collaboration with our constituent societies, including the Materials Research Society Singapore (MRSS), College of Clinician Scientists, Academy of Medicine (CCS), Singapore Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (SSBMB), Singapore Society for Microbiology and Biotechnology (SSMB), Society for Synthetic Biology Singapore (SynBioSG), Stem Cell Society Singapore (SCSS), and the Singapore Association for the Advancement of Science (SAAS).

Organising this conference is vital to bridge fundamental discoveries with clinical applications and to strengthen Singapore’s position as a hub for cutting-edge biomedical research. By bringing together scientists, clinicians, and industry partners from diverse fields, SNASForum 2026 will foster innovation, collaboration, and the translation of basic research into practical health solutions. It will also nurture young scientific talent, shape future research priorities, and highlight the essential role of fundamental science in advancing Singapore’s health and biomedical innovation agenda.
